Pengaruh Penambahan Kapur Terhadap Karakteristik Fisik Dan Mekanik Tanah Lempung Di Kabupaten Sorong
Abstract
Clay has low permeability and plastic properties, so it needs to be repaired to support the lower construction structures. Sorong Regency is an area with soil conditions characterized by clay, so soil repair is needed before it is used as a construction site. Chemical stabilization using lime is one of the effective techniquesf. The purpose of this study is to determine the physical and mechanical properties of the soil, as well as analyze changes after the addition of lime (5%, 10%, 15%), as well as determine the optimal percentage of lime to improve the stability of the original soil of Sorong Regency. In the implementation of this study, a quantitative method with an experimental test design in the laboratory was used to analyze the data, so that conclusions and answers to research problems can be obtained which include: (1) how the physical and mechanical properties of the original soil change, (2) how the physical and mechanical properties of the original soil change after the addition of lime with a mixture variation of 5%, 10% and 15% and (3) what percentage of the optimal addition of lime can provide the best stability on their original soil. The method in this laboratory test uses SNI standards to test the physical properties (filter analysis, moisture content, specific gravity and atterberg limits) and mechanical properties (standard supervisors and california bearing ratios) of soil samples. The results of the study showed that the soil in Sorong Regency was classified as clay (A-7-6) with a melting limit of 44.93% and a plasticity index of 23.50%. The addition of lime up to 15% is effective in reducing moisture content and plasticity, as well as increasing soil density. The highest CBR value of 5.529% was achieved with 10% lime, making it the optimal percentage for stabilization.
