Analisis Kinerja Simpang Bersinyal Menggunakan Metode PKJI 2023 Dan Simulasi PTV Vissim (Studi Kasus: Simpang Gatot Subroto – Buluh Indah, Kota Denpasar
Abstract
The Gatot SubrotoBuluh Indah intersection in Denpasar City is a four-leg signalized intersection that connects the Gatot Subroto Street with Buluh Indah Street, serving as a strategic route to the city center and surrounding residential areas. Traffic problems such as congestion, long delays, and extended queues, particularly during peak hours, highlight the need for a comprehensive evaluation of intersection performance and its traffic control system. This study aims to analyze the existing conditions using microscopic simulation with PTV Vissim based on queue length and delay indicators, and to compare the results with manual calculations using the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (PKJI) 2023. In addition, this research formulates recommendations for signal timing optimization through cycle length adjustments to improve traffic efficiency. The simulation results show that the existing condition operates at a low service level, with an average delay of 105.17 seconds/pcu and the longest queue reaching 435.09 meters, categorized as LOS F. The PKJI 2023 analysis produced a maximum degree of saturation (Dj) of 1.94 and an average delay of up to 454.38 seconds/pcu, confirming that the intersection performs inefficiently. Signal optimization using the PKJI 2023 cycle length reduced queue length by up to 47% and decreased average delay by 58% during the morning phase. These findings indicate that combining PKJI 2023 with PTV Vissim provides both a representative evaluation and practical solutions for improving traffic management. Furthermore, the outcomes of this study not only offer practical recommendations for the Denpasar City Transportation Agency but also contribute to the development of intersection performance evaluation methods by integrating manual analysis and microscopic simulation.
