A problem in construction projects is delays. The duration of the delay varies, some are only a few days, a weeks or months from the contract plan. Knowing early about of project delay is very important in order to determine what recommendations will be given to minimize delays. This research aims to find the period and range of delay duration and recommendations for actions to be taken. The research method was carried out by questionnaires to 11 respondents, who are members of Perkumpulan Ahli Penjadwalan Proyek Indonesia (PAPPI) with the positions of project manager, site manager and scheduler; have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field and a minimum education of S1. The questionnaire contains 19 questions that respondents must answer regarding indicators of causes of project delays, periods delays, duration ranges dan recommended action. The research results showed that the cause of the delay was if the project completion time moved behind the contract target, a project delay period of less than 1 week with a duration range of 1 to 6 days (condition 1), a delay period of between 1 to 2 weeks with a duration range of 7 to 13 days (condition 2) and a delay period of 2 weeks and above with a duration range of more than 14 days (condition 3). Recommended for condition 1 are to carry out supervision so that performance effectiveness can be improved, for condition 2 to accelerate duration and condition 3 must be rescheduled by re-analyzing the duration of work, work dependency and find new methods/strategies. The recommendations make it easier for the project team to take management action so that the project avoids delays.
