Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini telah dilaksanakan oleh tim dosen dari Jurusan Bahasa Inggris Politeknik Negeri Padang yang terdiri dari lima orang dosen dan ditujukan untuk membantu masyarakat di Nagari Bayau, Maninjau, Sumatera Barat. Pada kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 27 Juli 2021 ini, tim pengabdian memberikan pengenalan dan pembekalan mengenai penggunaan media sosial untuk meningkatkan promosi usaha kecil dan menengah kepada 25 orang pelaku usaha UMKM. Tujuan akhir dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keahlian dalam menghasilkan konten promosi untuk media sosial baik berupa konten foto maupun konten bahasa yang digunakan agar mereka mampu meningkatkan volume penjualan produk UMKMnya.

A common Indonesian with a one-word name who needs to repeat her first name as her surname.
A Ph.D. scholar, an EFL/ESP/EAP lecturer, an interpreter, a tutor of BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia for Non-Native Speakers), and a nice person to talk to who is passionate and tenacious about whatever she is doing, and interested in researching language learning issues, such as motivation, the use of technology, and sociolinguistics in the language learning context.

I believe that everyone needs to be heard. I love to listen to my students' opinions on their learning experience and act upon their preferences in designing the lesson plans, teaching materials, and classroom activities. I also love to share with colleagues, create a nice friendly working ambience, and be helpful to each other to progress as a team.

I am an experienced English Lecturer with a demonstrated history of working in classes in the context of General English, English for Specific Purposes, English for Academic Purposes, and English Proficiency Exam Preparations. I started my career in Indonesian Higher Education in 2003 and have been teaching English for Academic Purposes for international students in the UK since 2019. Since April 2020, I have gone back into teaching my classes in Indonesia through Moodle, Google Classroom, and WhatsApp group while I am residing in the UK.

I have a strong education professional with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Central Lancashire, UK, and graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia majoring in Applied Linguistics in TESOL (Teaching English to Other Speakers). I started my higher degree education at the Andalas University, Indonesia, majoring in English (Literature and Linguistics).
